David Mewbourne Appointed Flight Data Systems' Director of Engineering

A seasoned professional known for generating profitable programs in aviation, Mewbourne brings over 27 years of engineering and program management experience to Flight Data Systems.

In his role, Mewbourne will direct the development of international embedded software and hardware programs from the company’s corporate offices in Irving, Texas.

Mewbourne holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology. From engineering and program management, to proposal and client support, Mewbourne has gained a reputation for generating profitable engineering programs for airlines and business jet segments.

Eager to take on a lead role in the development and program support of Flight Data Systems’ diverse products and solutions portfolio, Mewbourne will lead a team of application, electrical design, and system engineers to support the integration and installation certification of products across a variety of industry verticals.

Flight Data Systems Announces FAA TSO for SENTRY Flight Data Recorder

MELBOURNE, AUS, November 18, 2019 — Flight Data Systems has announced the official Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) technical standard order (TSO) approval for the ED-112A Flight Data Recorder — the lightest on the market.

The SENTRY Cockpit Voice and Flight Data Recorder’s (CVFDR’s) recent TSO-approval paves the way for the device to be onboard numerous aircraft in various industry segments and will allow operators to save valuable space and reduce weight.
